does it mention £1bn in the article?? not us surely. we dont actually have many assets (i.e. owning our own ground).

This is what it says:
West Ham remain the most likely sellers — despite the owners’ denials — and the Qatar Investment Authority would not be frightened off by a New York investment bank’s £1billion valuation of the London Stadium club.

THE 30-40M THE BOLEYN WAS VALUED AT WOULD MAKE UP LESS THAN 5% OF THAT VALUATION

in what world are we worth £1bn?? is it because we added LONDON to all the branding?

no idea, seems very high.
just pointing out that not owning a stadium would have very little effect on a valuation anywhere near that figure

Surely 1bn involves buying the stadium which I'm guessing the owners would love to get rid of?

See this is from Charlie Sale. Another one of Danny Levy's spokesman. Funny how this comes out the weekend before we play Spurs.?
Hmmmm.*

Some of the valuation is probably based on the fact that we play in a 57,000 (...60,000 .... 66,000) seat stadium that costs us £2.5m pa while someone else pays £8m a year to move seats around.
Given Qatar own the rest of the site it would make sense that they own the football club on their doorstep. They like owning things in safe , compliant countries. Understand they are also involved in plans for several residential towers at Canary Wharf so they have obviously taken a liking to the area.

If it involves buying the stadium, smashing it down and then rebuilding Upton Park, then I'm all for it.
Money has ruined the game, but as we're not the club we were before anyway, then fuck it.

our turnover must be north of 150m a year by now with the new tv deal
not sure what ratio you'd work from with that to get a valuation

Cant see the Qatari's having any problem with the stadium in its present state. Except for banning the demon drink and fitting hookah pipes to each seat.
They may well do a deal to take the moneypit off the governments hands.

It would be a dream come true if someone come in with crazy money purchased the stadium and redeveloped it.
If you filled in the gaps around the lower tier, got rid of those ugly pointless screens, filled in the gaps between the upper and lower behind the goals, and moved the stands closer to the pitch....that would be fucking amazing. I wouldn't be bothered by Man City like gaps around the pitch.
We'd have a capacity close well over 80,000 too I reckon. It would be insane.
Massive pipe dream though.
So either that or fuck it off entirely for a new one in ESSEX. ;-)

If they own the site, they can do what they want.
